cK and Sabrina hit Pt. Dume and Malibu

Chillin at Point Dume Beach

Saturday was a day with no specific plans at all. Sabrina and I were just thinking of breakfast and then we'll see what will come after that. So we took the bus into Westwood and had a great breakfast at Denny's. Shortly after, my cousin called me to meet up with her to watch the movie, "Sahara" in the 3rd Street Promenade. So Sabrina and I take the bus and head there only to find that my cousin flaked and didn't meet up with us. The same moment, my roomate Dan calls me and invites us to go to a loft party that he will be djing later that night. As I am accepting his invitation, my roomate Alex calls me on the next line. I connect them both via the conference call feature and we all make plans for the rest of the day.

Alex decides to meet up with us in Santa Monica and then drive Sabrina and I to Malibu and meet up with his parents. Alex picks us up in his Caravan and we go up the very scenic Pacific Coast Highway. The sun and weather was just perfect. We arrive at the Malibu Ranch and meet up with the Carpenters. My Californian family... the people that always make me feel at home.

Sabrina and I wandered around the area while Mrs. Carpenter put some things on the BBQ Grill for us to eat. We went to look at the little stream, the new piglets and just the greenery. After sitting down and having some nice bbq with the Carpenter Family, Sabrina and I go and play with the neighbor's dog. It kept barking at us and brought a stick hoping we'd play with him. So we did.

It wasn't too long after we got back into Alex's Caravan and headed back to Los Angeles. The following pictures are from the Malibu Ranch:

On our way back to Los Angeles down the Pacific Coast Highway, we were approaching Point Dume. As it was Sabrina's last day in California, I asked if she wanted to check it out. She liked the idea and we went there. Alex stayed in the Caravan to catch a few Zzz's while Sabrina and I walked along the beach sand.

Pt. Dume beach has been used in tonnes of commercials and movies. Probably most famous for the background setting for "Planet of the Apes". The water crashing along the rocks was majestic. That was something different from the beautiful beaches I was used to visiting in Miami. The ocean with the mountains in the background always make me stand still and exhale.

Sabrina was drawing her name in the sand, and also drew my cousin, Tricia's name because she couldn't make it this time around. So it was kinda like her being there for that moment. While we were watching the names get washed away in the water, there was a couple behind us getting married on the beach. Very non traditional, just the couple, the groom's mother and a priest dude. Well, some nicely dressed guy that read something. It was so nice. By the time the wedding was official, the sun was beginning to set. The following are the pics I took at the beach.
