cK's Quest For Chili
| CK AND PALS MISS TAILGATE PARTY AND FIND ANOTHER ADVENTURE |
It a big football day in Toronto. The NFL's Buffalo Bills were in the Rogers Centre to take on the Miami Dolphins. There was a tailgate party with chili, ribs, beer and so much more fanfare going on and we wanted to be a part of it! So N8, The Tazemaster, Big Frank and I went downtown to check out the tailgate party. We got there at 4:30pm. The football game started at 4:05pm. Hence the tailgate party ended when the football game began.
So we missed out completely and we were freezing outside! So we made an attempt to try and get into the game. Wouldn't you know that not ONE person was selling tickets? There were no scalpers or anyone even trying to sell tickets. Anyone hanging outside the dome was ASKING to BUY tickets! It was unreal. We walked over to St. Louis Ribs, and it was standing room only. There were no tables available. So we started a trek to find a bar or place that was showing the game and we could get a beer. We walked over to the Steam Whistle Brewery. It was closed. So we went through the Toronto Convention Centre to defrost and ended up on Front Street. That's where we saw Lone Star steakhouse. We walked in and there were tables and booths available. Just not at that bar, where the game was playing -- that was already full! So we sat down, had a beer...and got CHILI!! That seemed to be a highlight. After so much walking and chilling our faces, the Chili was like a trophy for our marathon.
After we were content from the chili and beer, we went to Dundas Square and walked around for a bit. We decided to go to the AMC movie theatre and see "The Punisher: War Games". Before going in the theatre, we stopped in at Starbucks and got some hot chocolates. I, of course walked with Baileys in my napsack and added it to the choco. Mmm mmm good!! We enjoyed the movie and on our way out, we took some pics of ourselves in front of the Punisher movie poster. It was a fun night, it's too bad we didn't get to do the tailgate party but we still made the Sunday worthwhile!
