cK and N8 at Toronto Ice Party

CK AND N8 DANCE ON ICE, GET FREE SHREDDED WHEAT AND GO TO A PUB!

The original plan was to go and see the "Cavalcade of Lights", a free fireworks and light show that was happening at downtown Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square. The show started at 7pm, but the fireworks started at 8pm. Can you guess what time WE got there? Well, if you have been reading for the last 8 years, you'd figure that we got there as it just ended. We could actually see a bit of the fireworks from a distance as I was looking for parking. It's okay though, there was an ice skating dance party happening right after with a live dj -- so we were not really too picky on being there on time. Just seeing the fireworks would have been nice.

N8 DOGG and I went over to Tim Hortons' and got the biggest size of hot chocolate we could buy. Once we sat down, I brought along my own bottle of Bailey's and added it to the choco. MMmmmmm! We were now ready to go to the ice party! We get to Nathan Phillips Square and see lots and lots of people ice skating and people dancing to music on the sides. There was a group of people dancing in a circle on the icy pavement, who looked to be having lots of fun. N8 and I joined in and danced with them. After a while, we then departed and took a walk to explore more.

We went to the Tim Horton's across the street and got another tall order of hot chocolates. I added some Baileys to these chocos and then we were on our way back to the square. There were so many people of all ages. As we were walking, a guy with a huge bag was giving out FREE Shredded Wheat! I was so impressed, he kept giving me more because I was so happy! Good thing I had a napsack with me! N8 and I chilled for a bit, sipping our hot chocolates and taking in the very fun and happy vibe. I was grooving to the music that DJ CAJJMERE WRAY was playing.

N8 and I then walked around some more and met back with the group dancing in the circle. So I took some sneaky pics posing behind them without knowing. Then I just went up to them and asked to be in a group shot with me, and they all got excited and posed! Then N8 got in a group shot with them and posed. After a while I was getting 3 to 4 cameras from everyone asking me to take their photos! I was all too pleased to do so! After the big photo shoot, we talked with the group and apparently they were in the Katimavik program. Katimavik is a volunteer program that brings youth from all over Canada to do work in 3 different provinces. They live with 11 other roomates and have a life changing experience. Members of the group were from British Columbia, Quebec, Ottawa, Newfoundland... just all over the place. They were really happy to be in Toronto and be a part of this experience. We were just happy to meet them!

After that, N8 and I headed to Yonge/Eglinton's Philthy McNasty's. We were meeting up with JimmyVan, Luke and Kabral to watch the highly anticipated Oscar De La Hoya boxing match. We had some beers and a great time watching. There actually is a dance floor there and I spent a little time on there. After the boxing match was over, we headed home and called it a night!
