cK Goes To Lake Shrine


Self Realization, Meditation & Swans

Sunday morning, my cousin, Shelley picks me up at 10:00am and we head out to the Lake Shrine Self Realization Fellowship Center for the 11am service. Located on a 10 acre lake in Pacific Palisades, California, the center is a non-demoninational founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920.

I'm not going to really talk about the message that was discussed in the service, but more of the grounds itself.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Along the trail, you come across what seems to be some sort of tomb or some sort of statue thing. It is actually the Gandhi World Peace Memorial that contains a portion of Mahatma Gandhi's ashes. It was opened to the public in 1950.

The place is very lush with a lot of nice little places to relax and meditate. I'll let the following pics do more of the speaking:
