"Day of The Dead 2:Contagium"

cK playing a zombie in the sequel to the horror classic.

cK was casted for the role of a zombie in the movie, "Day of the Dead:Contagium".

Day One:
The scenes that were shot at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk, CA. The place also serves as a maximum security facility for 800 mental patients. You know when some guy murders 8 people and makes a plea for insanity? Yes... this is where they send them! The only thing seperating us and the "crazies" was a big gate. When I arrived on the first day of filming, one of the crew members said that the place was supposed to be haunted. Seriously. The girl went on to say that she was in one of the shower areas and she heard this real crazy laugh -- yet nobody was around... Freaky? Think she is making it up? Here is what I found out about this place when I did some research online:

"Metropolitan State Hospital - There have been sightings of ghosts in one of the occupied buildings. A woman was seen walking threw a wall and another time was spotted standing by the shower room. Dark figures have been seen in office areas and noise comes from the kitchen when no one is in there. A mist was seen floating knee high down the hall then disappearing into thin air. This activity has happened between 2003-2004. There has been talk of things prior to this but nothing spcific."

So my part in the movie was a zombie. The day I was shooting, it was set in 1968. So since a brown skinned kid with blonde highlights wasn't exactly a common thing in them times, I was set more in the back. I wore one of those hosptial gowns, which was real chilly to be in when we were filming the outdoor escape scenes.

Here are some pics from the first day:

On this day of filming, I played amongst a group of zombies that were escaping the mental ward and breaking through a fenced gate. Outside that fenced gate were snipers shooting at us, picking us off one by one. I could have been in this scene, but I didn't get my makeup finished in time. So I stuck around the back of the group. Because of this, I was asked to come in the next day to shoot the scenes that were set in present day.

Day Two:
The second day of filming this scene had a larger group of extras. A lot of really neat people from all sorts of acting backgrounds. We were called to be there at 11am, since the scenes were shot in the daylight. I was chilling with this real sweet girl named Veloshka. I don't even know if I spelt her name right, but she told me it was Russian. We were both called to get our zombie makeup done together. For our wardrobe, no hospital gowns, they gave me regular clothes that I would actually wear! When I went in for my makeup, I waited a bit while this guy, a Delroy Lindo lookalike was getting his makeup done. Veloshka sat in a chair and had her makeup done by this Canadian girl named, Amy. She was mad cool! She's from OTTAWA!! (GO SENATORS!) After talking to her, she actually told me she went to York University in Toronto! It's great to meet a fellow Canuck! Anyways, it was my turn shortly to get my makeup did. The makeup artist, Chris Mills, was going to use regular stuff to make me look all gory and hideous. I saw the prosthetics on the table and suggested he use them. So he did! The following, is how I turned out:
BEFORE
AFTER
After getting my makeup and wardrobe done, myself and other zombies were put into graphic scenes where we are attacking people and eating them. There is a particular scene we filmed where I leap from the bushes and go after a zombie feasting already in progress. Then there is another scene where zombies attack a federal agent vehicle, drag the agents out and start eating them. I was one of those zombies too. Here are the rest of the pictures:
