cK's Surprise Birthday Party!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY THROW A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR CK AT RINX!

It was the best birthday I have ever had. It completely tops the super birthday party my parents threw for me when I turned 6 years old. Now, 24 years later, my girlfriend, D'ette arranged for a very secret surprise for my 30th Birthday.



I went over to her house in around 12pm, where I was just watching tv and hanging out with her. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. At the door was my 2 best friends, N8 DOGG, and THE BIG BLACK MACHINE™ & also the RAGING BULL™.



They all wished me a happy birthday and we chilled and talked while D'ette served up a whole bunch of food that she made exhausting herself in the kitchen during the morning. The guys presented me with gifts and we had some fun. Then, around 2pm or so, the guys then tell me that I have to be blindfolded for the next part of my birthday. Knowing these guys, this can''t be good. They could take all the cheap shots they want!!! I was terrified!! Alas, I went along with it, just hoping that this would lead to something good.



I was escorted crossing streets and then into a car where I remained blindfolded while N8 DOGG drove us to an undisclosed location. After about 25 minutes, we got to our location. I was escorted into an unknown room, and then seated. I could feel a table, and chair...so I sat down. Then after another 15 minutes of waiting, my blindfold was removed and I saw all of my friends and family shouting in unison, "SURPRISE!!!!!" I was so overwhelmed! D'ette had secretly contacted everyone and arranged for the surprise to happen. It must have taken weeks of planning!!



Now, I was inside a very dull room -- but where exactly was I? We were all at RINX. A multi-purpose entertainment complex that had lots of activities for us to do. Our first group event was lazer tag! Everyone was pitted against each other in a 3,300 sq foot maze with plenty of hiding places. We had about 3 rounds of carnage, people sneaking around and lots of snipers. In the first round, it was Vinh who got the highest score -- which made everyone search for him in the second round. This is where Frank capitalized and scored the highest. I don't remember who else won the rounds as the printer was broken and we could not keep our scores.



After that was Whirly Ball -- its a combination of bumper cars and lacrosse. It was very very fun. We could not have everyone on the court at the same time, so we divided into teams. There was the red and yellow teams where myself and N8 were team captains. This was insane... lots of hard hits and fun trying to get that ball in the goal. There was a moment where IQ had his glasses bounce off his head and under a bumper car. We thought that it was definitely over for those glasses, but to our surprise, they were intact! Although there was no winning team, (both teams won 2 rounds each) the Red Team definitely scored the most points.



After all the action and fun, we went back to our assigned party room where some luke warm pizza was waiting for us. There was some pepsi, sprite and diet cola there for us to drink in pitchers. We were not allowed to bring our own food, so we had to eat the lackluster food that RINX provided. We talked and laughed about our afternoon, and then they turned off the lights. D'ette brought over a cake that she made from scratch with candles on it all lit up. It was a moment I'll never forget. Everyone sang happy birthday, and I was now pressured to make a wish. The thing is, what I would wish for, I already have! All the love from my friends and family...that's all I need!



So after I blew out the candles and made my wish, I said a speech to thank all that came to make my day so special. My eyes started watering up when I thought of all the effort made, and all who took out time on their Sunday to spend it with me. It's really beautiful.



Well -- that's that. The big THREE-OH... and I don't feel anything negative about it. In fact, I feel more energized and look forward onto the next decade of life! Definitely, many many more years to come!
