CrazyHouse Acquires WrestleFest Arcade!
TORONTO, Canada - In the long quest to find one of the most prized arcade machines of his life, CrazyKelvin found it, and brought it home to the CrazyHouse!
Ravishing Ron and CrazyKelvin went to the coin machine auction taking place in southern Etobicoke. Once a month, there is an auction where industry standard pool tables, foosball tables, video arcades games and more are auctioned off to the highest bidder.
There were many items that caught the attention of CK, but one stood out alone...
The WWF WrestleFest Arcade Game! Circa 1991, this was one of the hottest arcade games ever. Of the 5,425 video games tracked by the International Arcade Museum and the KLOV, this game ranks on a scale of #57 out of 100 (1=highest) in popularity based on ownership records.
CK is especially lured to this game because it was a big part of his middle school days. He remembers going to the card shop during lunches where they had WrestleFest beside StreetFighter 2. Both very popular games, but CK was a big fan of the stars of the wrestling game.
Big wrestling stars from that era included in the video game were: Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Sgt. Slaughter, Million Dollar Man, Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Mr. Perfect, Earthquake, Big Boss Man, Legion of Doom, Demoltion.
Well, at the auction, CK and Ravishing Ron did acquire the machine. A full 4 player version with minor scratches but overall fantastic condition.
Now sitting in the autoport area of the CrazyHouse, this game attracts attention from passersby.
"People will stop while they are driving their cars and ask to come and play", says CK,
"...and I let them!"
CK does not charge anyone the quarter per credit that the game asks for, he just sets unlimited credits so everyone can play.
