CrazyKelvin reviews the latest rendition of Marvel Comics' "Punisher: War Zone".

Welcome to the another edition of "CK At The Movies"! I'm your reviewer, CrazyK and today I will be reviewing "Punisher: War Zone".

PUNISHER: WAR ZONE:(2008)
Starring Ray Stevenson, Dominic West, Julie Benz, Wayne Knight

Don't get it twisted! This is not "THE Punisher" movie from 1989 starring Dolph Lundgren, or the more recent version from 2004. No, this is a complete restart to the franchise starring Ray Stevenson.

I remember the 1989 version being crap, and I didn't even see the 2004 version. Total lack of interest. This new one however, looked quite interesting. I went to watch this movie in the brand new AMC Theaters in Dundas Square at the heart of downtown Toronto. Fantastic facilities! Anyways, it was a good ride. Good characters and story. Something about the movie felt very low budget. I don't know what it was. It definitely didn't feel like a Marvel Studios type of movie like Incredible Hulk or Iron Man, something was just missing. The movie is very dark, and it wasn't really a family movie. Very violent and quite gory. I actually think I would see it again. The action is quite good and the crowd loved it.

Trivia: On its opening weekend Punisher: War Zone only grossed $4 million in 2,508 theaters in the United States, ranking at #8 at the box office, the movie is Marvel's third box office flop with the first being Howard the Duck and second being Elektra.
