I
have noticed that so many items of the 80's are back in style
today in 2002. About 20 years later!! Breakdancing is back in
the clubs and breakdancing fashions are back in stores. Puma has
even released all the same clothing lines that they were selling
before in the 80s. ALF and Mr.
T, both HUGE television icons of the 80s, are presently doing
1-800-COLLECT commercials.
The TV Networks are also paying attention to this retro fad...
FOX's successful "That 70's Show" has followed up with
"That 80's Show". And yes.... even one of the biggest
pop culture icons of the 80's was pro wrestling with Hulk Hogan.
He's actually back wrestling today AND the current Champion!
Music also has resurfaced with 80's inspirations. The whole electronic
dance music craze has exploded into a world wide phenomenon. Many
of the same beats from Micheal Jackson, Duran Duran and David
Bowie are remixed into hypnotic trancendual beats.
Is
that the main course of my thought for this week? Nope... but
its something that I'm thinking about. Right now I'm living my
FIRST WEEK in Orlando, Florida. I have no clue what to expect
and I don't know what my future has in store for me. Last year,
my new life started in Miami. I am already looking back when I
moved into my place on the water of Biscayne Bay. My now famous
studio apartment in downtown Miami. *sigh* I just left the place
yesterday and now I'm here in Orlando. What a change. I don't
know how long I'll be here... CrazyKelvin is always relocating.
Has
anyone received that crazy message from Hotmail lately? Get this:
If you don't access your hotmail account within 30 days, they
will delete all your saved e-mails and folders...UNLESS you pay
them $29.95/year. Can you believe this?!?!? How much MORE money
does Microsoft want?? I remember when Hotmail was called - "The
World's FREE Web Based E-mail". Now.. I guess that's
all gone. I have been a Hotmail member since 1997. Back actually
around the time when Microsoft didn't take over Hotmail yet. Geeez.....
Bill Gates must need a new downpayment on an island in the Pacific
to ask people to shell out $30/yr just to keep their email accounts
safe from deletion.
All
the best,
-cK
